What happens when a grouchy giant decides to scoop all colour out of the world – from the trees and flowers, from the birds and animals, the fish and the waters? A quaint, fairytale-like story, set amidst magnificent mountains, leafy forests, swirling seas and skies. Sandhya Prabhat’s pictures play with the ebb and flow of colour, startling the reader with brilliantly coloured pages and stark, monochromatic ones. A multi-hued journey in which a little girl who can’t see helps the grouchy giant see the world around in a completely new way.

Simply outstanding!
The illustrations in this book are simply outstanding. The combination of black and white pictures with the colourful ones are quite eye catching. Illustrations actually make the story all the more interesting. This book definitely took a place in my favourites list. Akanksha Datta, blogger & columnist
Beautiful jewel-toned pages
“…Prabhat has crafted beautifully jewel-toned pages that contrast with stark grey hued ones, robbed of all vibrancy. As the colour thief swoops around, the colours swirl into his net like a slice from a Van Gogh painting, full of movement and vivacity…The language in the book is simple, ideal for young bookworms and read aloud-sessions. The engaging art is sure to capture the attention of even the most reluctant reader.” — Tara Saldanha, The Book Review, November 2018
A story that’s sure to capture hearts!
The riot of colours in the book is what caught my attention first. The simple language and storyline combined with engaging art makes it a wonderful read aloud! Kavitha Thyagarajan, @storytellerkavitha
